Industry to gauge current market sentiment at Eurobike

More than before, industry peers will look forward to meeting again and discussing the latest market trends at Eurobike. At Taipei Cycle Show in early March, it was more than clear that any improvement in the challenging market conditions was not expected before Q3 at the earliest or probably only at the start of 2025. At China Cycle show in May, the first indications of a positive market development were eminent. The Frankfurt show will be the next international meeting to assess the market conditions.

When Eurobike opens its doors in early July, it will be clear whether the market performance in spring has contributed to the long-awaited clearing of the warehouses. This would give the industry the much-needed room for new investments and the implementation of forward-looking strategies. Even if this is the case, industry insiders expect the market to go forward in very small steps.

Knowledge, exchange, networking

The relocation to Frankfurt in 2022 gave a clear direction for the event and confirmed that Friedrichshafen was too small to fulfill Eurobike’s ambitions. The conference has been an integral part of Eurobike for many years, but knowledge transfer, exchange and networking have gained importance in the past few years. The annual industry get-together has become a global presentation of every aspect the bicycle and e-bike business has to offer.

Conference

The conference programme starts one day before the start of the trade fair. Top tier managers are invited to the Leaders’ Night. Under the motto ‘Hello Future. Hello Transformation’, this newly developed evening format offers forward-thinking keynotes as well as networking at the highest level, while acting as a framework for the following days of the conference. The official kick-off for the professional audience will be at the Industry & Start-Up Day on 3 July. All events will take place at various locations, but mainly in hall 8.

Insights into the supply chain

Industry organisations like CONEBI, CIE, ZIV and Zukunft Fahrrad will take the stage on Wednesday and discuss various topics like the bicycle ecosystem in Germany, global insights in the supply chain, industry cooperation from an outsider's perspective, the Mobility Transition Pathway and a fireside chat about sustainability in the bicycle industry. On Thursday, the conference will focus on ‘How do we get more people cycling?’ In the afternoon, the discussion will focus on joint solutions that should be visionary and feasible.

The professional programme will be accompanied on Thursday by the Ecomobility Talk on the future technology of light electric vehicles and the Cargo Bike Academy. In the evening, the industry will meet at the Pink Thursday event for networking and talks. Pink Thursday takes place at the center for cycling culture Massif Central in the heart of Frankfurt. On Friday, the business days will culminate in network meetings concerning the cooperation of the tourism industry with the cycling industry. Interested parties can meet at the Bike Travel Forum, the Women in Cycling Breakfast or at a focus event on Service & Sale for online and offline business.

Industry investment funds gather at investors lounge

Three successful editions of the 'Eurobike investors lounge' prompted organizer Kindermann Value Creation to launch a wider and more in-depth program for this year. The presentations are primarily geared towards the interests of the guests, who are mainly made up of representatives from leading private equity funds and family offices.

“We are delighted to have been able to further expand our program with top-class partners and provide interesting insights into the industry's investment activities,” says organizer Ralf Kindermann. In addition to the latest developments in the market, participants will be offered exclusive personal support with presentations on market trends and guided tours of the trade fair, as well as the opportunity for personal dialogue and networking.

Financial presentations

“Past years’ investors have changed the cycling industry landscape,” said Ralf Kindermann recently in interview in Bike Europe. “Many of them are strategic investors and value the ESG component of the industry. Green mobility is upcoming and highly attractive. The bicycle industry is quite ahead on that which makes it highly attractive for investors.”

On both Wednesday 3 July and Thursday 4 July, the Eurobike investors lounge will run a full program with lectors on ‘e-bike & bike market dynamics’ as well as on ‘mobility & digital services & e-commerce’.
